The first post on a blog right after a website launch is always the tuffest as it provides an intro for what is to come…so with the first post I was inspired to give an open window to my past with pieces of autobiographical minutia to help you learn a little bit about me. So here are some things that you may not have known about me but have in some way shaped me into who I am today…
- I was born in Dallas, TX at St. Pauls hospital on July 12, 1979 and with the exception of attending 6 years of college at Texas A&M University and now living in Sooner country, I have lived my entire li fe to the present in Dallas.
- When I was little I had an obsession with my dad’s cowboy boots and loved getting house shoes and still enjoy a good set of peculiar house shoes even to this day.
- My hair has always had a little patch that is darker than the rest – I use to tell kids on the playground that it was because I had gotten struck by lightening. It usually made me look really cool and make the kids think I could run really fast but people stopped believing me after fourth grade.
- When I was five I was playing with my dog “pepper” in the backyard. I stole his bone and was running from him and fell down. Pepper bit my face. I have two teeth mark scars on the right side of my face. Unfortunately my tendency towards being witty had not yet developed at five or I would have bitten Pepper right back so we could have matching scars. He got off easy.
- When I was in Kindergarten I hid under a table to keep from having to say the pledge of allegiance.
- When I was in first grade I snuck into the attic of my house and fell through the ceiling – not so sneaky
- This was about the time I became fascinated with fire. Burned our front yard up and the field behind my house.
- My mom was obsessed with dressing my brothers and I alike.
- I snuck my first kiss in second grade when I kissed a girl on the back of the head while standing in line.
- In sixth grade I became obsessed with the movie RAD
- I built my first bike ramp shorly after watching it. Went off of it and fell straight forward on my face. I learned the concept of too steep.
- Once biking didn’t work out I took up speed skating and was on the Hot Wheels Speed Skating team. It was dumb.
- I got in one fight in junior high. I punched the guy once and then tore his shirt pocket and ran. He was much bigger than me.
- My first car at 16 was a 1987 Cutlass Cruiser Wagon. I tinted the windows, put an alarm on it that spoke, and had a rockin stereo. I tried desperately to make up for it’s shortcomings.
- I went to THIS SCHOOL to be an FBI agent before ending up at THIS SCHOOL with a Construction Science degree.
- When I was in College my roomate got arrested as I was leaving for class by the College Station Police department for not paying a speeding ticket. I went to class before bailing him out. Thought he need to sit in that cell and think about his mistake for a good hour and a half.
- I met Michelle at A&M and when I asked her if I could pursue her a bunch of college students starting making a ruckus and I couldn’t hear her answer. So I asked her again the next day.
- Michelle and I got married April 8, 2006. I love her very much.
- I love all things outdoors – rock climbing and hiking especially and have led trips in the past for both. Enjoy good ultimate frisbee games and watching our dogs grab frisbee’s in midair. I am an avid snowboarder and love cycling but I am not real fond of grocery shopping.
